There is an obvious irony in the UK calling on the UN to reduce CO2 emissions whilst back home the supermarket shelves are emptying because we don’t have any CO2 for animal slaughter and chilled food transport. How many of us knew that this supply chain was dependent on a fertiliser manufacturer whose CO2 output was a by-product and susceptible to the price of gas.

Introducing innovation requires understanding current processes

It is nearly two years since I have had an excuse to put a dinner jacket and black tie on. And then two come along within the space of 3 days. The good news is that both the black tie and the jacket fit. However, the bottom half of the suit did need a bit of help. Thank you to the inventor of the cummerbund! (Apparently an Indian fashion innovation the English copied in the 17th century).
