We’ve long known that one of the most significant risks that any company has is human error and bad online security behavior. As I look at how the pandemic has forced us all to rethink our security postures, I’m struck by the increased volume of attacks and the strategic, manipulative nature of the attacks themselves.
Companies, both large and small, are under attack. Hackers are working tirelessly to introduce new malware variants and detect network vulnerabilities to exploit. As the threat landscape becomes more hazardous, a solid security posture has never been more critical. But most organizations struggle to obtain a strong security posture on their own — which creates a substantial opportunity for MSPs to add value and forge a profitable path into the future.
In honor of National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (observed every October), Tech Data is bringing awareness to employees this week to educate and evangelize cybersecurity best practices. Cybersecurity is not one person’s job. It takes each person to be aware of risks and behavior that can expose personal and/or company information. The issue of cybersecurity gets even more personal with the recent news around the Equifax data breach, where an estimated 143 million U.S. records were compromised.
Today kicks off Security and Information Management Focus Week at Tech Data, where we’re focusing on ways to keep your business and your clients’ business protected from cyber threats. We’re doing this by educating our team members about cyber security trends and solutions.
Some of the information we’re sharing with your team includes how cyber security is showing rapid growth overall as the volume of threats has increased exponentially over the past few years.
