Tech Data's booth display at this month’s Dell EMC World 2017 had a decidedly aviation-esque theme. As a self-anointed airplane aficionado, the cutaway jet fuselage was one of my favorite event displays in recent memory. Our onsite “cabin crew” offered discussions and demonstrations focused on software-defined storage solutions and the journey to the hybrid-cloud and software-defined data center.
Tech Data was a gold-level sponsor of Dell EMC World 2017, which was held at The Venetian in Las Vegas, May 8-11. Our event news centered around Tech Data enhancing the value of Dell EMC® VxRailTM Appliances and VxRackTM Systems to its partners with unique add-on cloud offerings and cloud services, including its family of resource-saving plug-ins. These plug-ins, designed for VMware® vRealizeTM OrchestratorTM environments, bring automation and order to existing infrastructures, saving time spent on manual processes and costs associated with user error and inefficiencies, while laying the foundation for data center transformation and cloud readiness. The new packaged add-ons and services enhance partner revenue bases and enable them to develop their own practices around these industry-leading technologies.
During “layovers” from activity at our booth (which won the “Best-in-Show award, by the way), I enjoyed visiting the other displays within the Solutions Expo. In a perennial contest of value-added one-upmanship, each booth provided some sort of tech candy to beckon visitors in an effort to strike up a conversation.
Over at our Tech Data booth, we featured interactions focused on software-defined storage solutions and the journey to the hybrid-cloud and software-defined data center. In addition, Tech Data helps partners design and deploy new solutions that offer their SMB, mid-market and enterprise customers the cloud and data center benefits of hyper-converged infrastructure at the price points and sizes that align with their needs. Other show highlights included the compelling keynote addresses, breakout sessions and channel denizen personal interactions – not to mention the great shows, capped off by Gwen Stefani’s stellar performance on Wednesday night in the traditional show-closing finale.
One of the biggest highlights for Tech Data during the week was the partner appreciation gathering at the Lavo night club. It was great to see the fantastic partner turnout, along with friends and colleagues from both Tech Data and Technology Solutions. Michael Dell, himself, made an appearance – cool.
All in all, Tech Data’s presence at Dell EMC World 2017 was a flying success. We’re looking forward to showcasing our winning combination to our valued partner and supplier ecosystem for years to come. Sit back and enjoy the ride!
